Counceling support

The Counselling & Restoration Programme provides emotional care, trauma support, and spiritual restoration for children and families. Many of the young people we serve carry heavy experiences that affect their behaviour, relationships, and ability to learn. By offering early, compassionate intervention, we help restore stability and strengthen resilience.

This support not only changes individual lives, it also eases the burden on overstretched services in the community.

Why this matters

Children often communicate inner pain through aggression, withdrawal, rebellion, or difficulty concentrating. Trauma can disrupt development, damage relationships, and create barriers to education. Without help, these patterns often continue into adulthood.

Early support can change that trajectory.

A safe place to heal

We are developing a welcoming, community-based counselling room — a calm, confidential environment where learners can find support. Here children can:

  • de-escalate strong emotions,
  • learn healthy coping tools,
  • receive guidance and mentoring,
  • and experience care from trusted adults.

Building lifelong skills

Through Social Emotional Learning (SEL), children learn to understand feelings, manage stress, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. These skills increase confidence, improve classroom behaviour, and support long-term wellbeing.

Wider community impact

By intervening early, the programme helps break cycles of crisis, strengthens families, and reduces the pressure on social workers in Blanco and the greater George area.

💛 Cost per child

R400 per child per month provides access to counselling support, emotional regulation tools, safe spaces, and caring mentorship.
