Nutritional
The Nutritional Support Programme nourishes both body and mind, recognising that hunger is one of the biggest barriers to learning, concentration, and healthy development. The programme is implemented in partnership with Love Looks Like Something, ensuring children receive meals in a consistent, respectful, and dignified way.
Why this matters
Malnutrition and stunting remain widespread in South Africa and are strongly linked to poor academic performance, absenteeism, low energy, and behavioural difficulties. A hungry child cannot fully participate, learn, or imagine a brighter future.
Our dual-phase feeding model
Morning meals at the crèche fuel early learning, play, and physical growth.
Afternoon meals at the Elpida Restoration Hub sustain school-aged children with energy for homework support, reading, mentoring, and positive connection.
The impact
A reliable meal builds security, dignity, and trust. It improves concentration, attendance, and emotional wellbeing. For many children, this is the most dependable meal of their day.
What it costs
R450 per child per month provides 2 nutritious meals per day and a safe, welcoming environment.
🤝 How you can help
